View the Little Colorado River Gorge on your last leg to the Grand Canyon National Park. You'll get your first views of the Grand Canyon and Colorado River at Desert View, home of the infamous Watchtower Observatory, the crowning achievement of architect Mary Colter.
As you journey along the rim of the Grand Canyon, stop at Grandview, a transitional point between the East and South Rims. Grandview offers both the open views of the Colorado River Gorge afforded at the East Rim, as well as the noted butte-filled views of the South Rim.
Upon your arrival at Mather Point, take a leisurely ½-mile walk along the rim to Yavapai Point, where you'll be able to view over one-fourth of the Grand Canyon! Enjoy a deli-style lunch served to you right at the rim (weather permitting) as you gaze 14 miles across to the North Rim.
